Tiso, Jozef

Jozef Tiso (1887−1947) – Catholic priest, mem­ber of par­lia­ment and min­is­ter of the Czechoslo­vak gov­ern­ment, prime min­is­ter of the Slo­vak autonomous gov­ern­ment and the gov­ern­ment of the Slo­vak state, supreme com­man­der of the Hlin­ka Guards and the Slo­vak army, Pres­i­dent of the Slo­vak state in 1939 – 1945. In 1947 he was sen­tenced to death in Bratislava.
