First Czechoslovak Army Corps in the Soviet Union

The 1st Czechoslo­vak Army Corps in the Sovi­et Union, also known as Svoboda’s Army, was part of the Czechoslo­vak army that fought against the Nazis along­side the Red Army dur­ing World War II. The unit was formed in 1942 and became an army corps in 1944, when it also par­tic­i­pat­ed in the lib­er­a­tion of Czecho­slo­va­kia and took part in the Slo­vak Nation­al Uprising.
