Marek Jandák
He graduated from the doctoral program at the Institute of Economic and Social History at Faculty of Arts, Charles University. His research focuses on the history of the Armenian Genocide, the Holocaust, nationalism, and humanitarian work. In his doctoral thesis, “A Nation State for Multiple Nations? The Emergence of the Transcaucasian Federation, Yugoslavia, and Czechoslovakia in 1918” (in Czech), he examined the comparative history of nationalism in Central Europe, the Balkan Peninsula, and the South Caucasus. He is the author of the award-winning book, Arménská genocida: Příčiny, průběh a osobní svědectví (1915 – 1922) (Armenian Genocide: Causes, Course, and Personal Testimonies (1915 – 1922)), published in 2018. He has worked at the Center for Research on Violence, Trauma, and Justice at Charles University and the Institute for Contemporary History of the Czech Academy of Sciences. Currently, he works at the Institute of Art History of the Czech Academy of Sciences and collaborates with the Prague Center for Romani Histories at the Faculty of Arts at Charles University.
