Anna Štičková

Anna stud­ied lit­er­a­ture and cre­ative writ­ing, then went on to com­plete a mas­ter’s degree in cul­tur­al man­age­ment at the Fac­ul­ty of Arts of Masaryk Uni­ver­si­ty in Brno. Cur­rent­ly, her doc­tor­al stud­ies focus on the book mar­ket, small pub­lish­ers and book pro­fes­sion­als. Dur­ing her under­grad­u­ate stud­ies, she worked at Czech Tele­vi­sion as an edi­tor, as well as at the Good Czech Asso­ci­a­tion and on projects of the Oper­a­tional Pro­grammes Research, Devel­op­ment and Edu­ca­tion at the Acad­e­my of Per­form­ing Arts in Prague. She worked as a book pro­duc­er at the Nová bese­da pub­lish­ing house. At the begin­ning of 2020, she co-found­ed the Kni­hex plat­form, a pro­fes­sion­al organ­i­sa­tion of small pub­lish­ers and inde­pen­dent book­sellers, which she now heads. She has pub­lished poet­ry col­lec­tions Nejsi ze Sudet? [Aren’t you from the Sude­ten­land?] (2019) and Nádech výdech [Breath In, Breathe Out] (2015).
